Vision

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]William Munroe, founder of the Concord Free Public Library, had the vision to imagine an institution with three connected buildings.  The first – the historic Library we know and love – was built in 1873.

Nearly one hundred and fifty years later, we are launching this $10 million project, which will link the historic Heywood-Benjamin house next door to the Main Library, effectively realizing the second piece of his original vision.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row_content” el_class=”visionstats” css=”.vc_custom_1544415829847{background-color: #ae485b !important;}”][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”THE PLAN” font_container=”tag:div|font_size:32px|text_align:center|color:%23ffffff|line_height:46px”][vc_row_inner css=”.vc_custom_1544415715987{margin-top: 50px !important;margin-bottom: 50px !important;}”][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][cms_fancybox_single title=”+37% in overall Library square footage” description=”An increase of +37% in overall Library square footage for more gathering, collaborative, and interactive learning spaces” content_align=”text-center” icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-flag” cms_template=”cms_fancybox_single.php”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][cms_fancybox_single title=”historical assets” description=”Enhance and preserve the historical assets in our collections” content_align=”text-center” icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-flag” cms_template=”cms_fancybox_single.php”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][cms_fancybox_single title=”technology infrastructure” description=”Upgrade the Library’s technology infrastructure” content_align=”text-center” icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-star” cms_template=”cms_fancybox_single.php”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/4″][cms_fancybox_single title=”educational activities and programming” description=”Support ongoing educational activities and programming” content_align=”text-center” icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-bullseye” cms_template=”cms_fancybox_single.php”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]In addition to connecting two beloved buildings, this project also speaks to the connection the Library has with the community. This is truly an exciting project, expanding the ways people use the library, increasing the opportunities to access it, and making it more dynamic.

Connecting our Community was chosen as the campaign name because this project does just that – it provides a place in the heart of Concord where the community can come together to learn, collaborate, socialize and… connect![/vc_column_text][cms_button btn_type=”btn btn-primary” button_link=”url:http%3A%2F%2Fcfplarttour.org%2Fjoin-the-revolution%2F|title:DONATE%20NOW||” btn_icon=”true” btn_position=”right” icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-arrow-circle-o-right”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”1932″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
