Buildings & Grounds Overview

Through a historic public-private partnership established in 1873, the Library Corporation owns and maintains the buildings and the grounds of the Concord Free Public Library. Any improvements to the buildings and grounds (at both the Main Library and the Fowler branch) are funded by the Library Corporation, either through the fundraising for the Annual Fund or disbursements from the Library Corporation’s endowment.

This partnership saves the taxpayers $1.3M per year in costs that are covered by the Library Corporation and preserves flexibility to make improvements that benefit the community. Community members are partners in this endeavor through philanthropic support for the Library Corporation’s Annual Fund.
